The short version

Noor collects only what it needs to give you accurate cycle, prayer, and fasting guidance. Your data is encrypted, is never sold, and you can export or delete it at any time from within the app.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Noor, we may collect:

• Account details — your email address, name, and date of birth, used to create and secure your account.
• Cycle data — period start dates, cycle length, period length, and any symptoms, moods, or activities you choose to log.
• Health context — optional factors like hormonal birth control, pregnancy, or conditions such as PCOS, thyroid, or endometriosis, which you can add or remove at any time in About You.
• Faith preferences — your selected madhhab and topics of interest, used to tailor prayer, fasting, and Majlis content.
• Prayer location — either your device's live location or a city you choose manually, used only to calculate accurate prayer times and qibla direction.
• Majlis activity — posts, replies, and reactions you make in the community, shown under a private handle rather than your real name.
• Imported history — if you choose to import cycle history from services like Flo, Clue, or Apple Health, we store the imported dates to improve prediction accuracy.
• Device & usage data — basic technical information (like app version and crash logs) that helps us fix bugs and keep Noor running smoothly.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Generate cycle, prayer, and fasting predictions personalized to you.
• Save your progress on make-up fasts and Hajj planning.
• Power the Majlis community experience, including scholar responses relevant to you.
• Keep your account secure and recover access if you're signed out.
• Improve Noor's accuracy and fix problems — never to build an advertising profile.

Data storage & security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Authentication uses secure, revocable session tokens, and sensitive local data (like in-progress onboarding answers) is stored using your device's encrypted storage before it ever reaches our servers.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your cycle or health information with advertisers. Limited information is shared only with the service providers that keep Noor running (such as cloud hosting and, if you choose, Apple or Google sign-in) — each bound to protect your data and use it solely to provide their service to us.

Your choices & rights

• Access & export — request a copy of your data at any time from Settings.
• Correction — edit your cycle details, health factors, and profile whenever they change in About You.
• Deletion — permanently delete your account and associated data from Settings, at any time, for any reason.
• Notifications — control which reminders and alerts you receive.

Children's privacy

Noor is designed to support women and girls across different life stages, including younger users tracking their first cycles under appropriate guidance. We collect only the minimum information needed to provide accurate guidance and never use children's data for marketing purposes. If you believe a child has provided us data inappropriately, please contact us and we will act promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll let you know in the app before the changes take effect.
